Are Parasites Zapping Your Energy?

Since I had so much feedback yesterday from my post on parasites and the full moon, I thought I would address this issue in our Q & A today.

The question is what are parasites, how do we get them, how do I know if I have them and what can I do treat them?

They’re hungry, their toxic and they live inside you!  Parasites affect millions of people all over the world and yet most of us don’t even know they exist.  Also known as worms, viruses, and infectious bacteria, parasites thrive in sick bodies and live off of other living organisms such as animals and humans.

They can travel through our bodies, feed off the food we consume and even leave their dirty waste behind.  In a nutshell parasites feed off our metabolic processes and drain our energy by stealing essential vital vitamins and minerals from our bodies.

Now, I’m not trying to scare you, but this is no joke- parasites are real.  I’ve seen thousands of clients when I worked as a Colon Hydrotherapist who had parasites and actually passed them through their colonic session.  The biggest one I ever saw was about 5 or 6 inches long, white-ish in colour and squirmy mo-fo.  Others were tiny are barely visible to the human eye.

Parasites though they mostly live in our intestinal tract where they feed off our food and even backed up waste, can live anywhere in the human body, including the brain.  They can affect our nervous system therefore altering our ability think clearly and concentrate, zap our energy as they eat our nutrients and can lead to low iron in some instances where all other causes of low iron have been ruled out.

Some research has shown that parasites tend to come “alive” or thrive more on the onset of the full moon, hence many of symptoms are exasperated on the eve or leading up the full moon, especially in individuals who are particularly sensitive.  Parasites also thrive off of coffee.  The caffeine in particular stimulates them to keep them awake and alive.

Where do Parasites Come From?

So how do we get these nasty little creatures?  Well surprisingly enough, most people think we have to travel to a third world country to acquire parasites.  But we actually don’t even have to step off of Canadian soil.

Asides, from global travel, we can get parasites from household pets, overuse of antibiotics & other pharmaceutical drugs, infected food/water, children’s day  care centres, military personnel returning from infested areas, raw/uncooked meat/fish, seafood, shellfish, sushi, poorly washed or contaminated fruits & vegetables, community swimming pools, pollution, exposure to multiple romantic partners and more.

How do I know if I have parasites?

Typical common signs & symptoms can include the following:

  • Digestive disturbances: Chronic Constipation, Gas & Bloating, Explosive Bowel Movements very soon after eating, Abdominal Pain, Mucus or Blood in Stools, Leaky Gut,
  • Chronic Unexplained Fatigue: Lethargy , Low Energy
  • Mood Problems: depression, anxiety, irritability, forgetfulness, foggy brain, restlessness
  • Sleep Disturbances: teeth grinding, bed wetting, insomnia, drooling during sleep
  • Muscle & Joint Complaints: Joint Pain, Muscle Aches, Heart Pain, Arthritic Pain, Numbness of the Hands and/or Feet
  • Blood Disorders: Anemia, hypoglycemia
  • Reproductive Problems PMS, Menstrual Problems, Male Impotence, UTIs, Yeast Infections- Candida, Cysts & Fibroids, Acne
  • Weigh & Appetite Problems: Excessive hunger, loss of appetite, obesity, inability to lose or gain weight

As you can see the list is quite extensive and includes an array of symptoms that may also look similar to other disease/illness symptoms.  This is why it is imperative that you work with an experienced health practitioner who has experience in this area and can help with addressing parasites.

What Kinds of Foods Can Aid in Killing Parasites?

Foods that contain anti-viral and anti-microbial properties will do wonders for people fighting parasites.  Here are my top 5 that contain solid anti-viral/microbial properties to aid in killing parasites:

  1. Raw pumpkin seeds
  2. Papaya seeds
  3. Garlic (*Raw and cooked- I prefer raw)
  4. Coconut oil
  5. Cloves
